We asked Antti about his work and his thoughts on the evolving role of data in today’s world.
What’s the best thing about working with data?
The beauty of data lies in its truth and immense potential. Analysing data often reveals that assumptions were off the mark, and by using it correctly, we can achieve significant improvements in areas like customer experience—or even create entirely new business opportunities.
How do you see the role of data and working with it in the future?
The role of data is constantly growing and solidifying, and it’s now considered the cornerstone of nearly everything we do. Technologies and tools are evolving at a rapid pace, enabling increasingly innovative and efficient solutions for utilising data.
However, it’s important to remember that technology alone doesn’t guarantee success in data projects. Success also requires an understanding of business and customer needs, as well as embedding a strong data culture within organisations.
With artificial intelligence, we’re likely to see significant leaps forward in the near future. That said, there will always be a need for diverse, skilled professionals in the field.
What kinds of projects have you worked on, and what’s been the best part of them?
Looking at the bigger picture, the variety and meaningfulness of projects stand out. I’ve had the chance to work on diverse projects across various industries, and it’s been fascinating to see the many ways data can be utilised.
In recent years, I’ve especially enjoyed seeing a shift towards using data to enhance customer experience. Previously, the focus was more on improving and streamlining businesses' internal operations, but now there’s greater recognition of the potential in understanding customers and end-users.
I’ve had countless roles and responsibilities in these projects, but I’ve particularly enjoyed those that allow me to work across both technical implementation and business strategy.
What’s next on your professional wishlist?
I’d love to continue contributing to impactful projects that create real value for both customers and businesses. It would also be exciting to be involved in projects that have a broader societal significance.
How have you developed your skills?
I’ve gained technical and industry expertise through a variety of projects—and of course, outside of them as well. At Hellon, there’s a constant emphasis on encouraging personal development, and the ever-changing technological landscape naturally drives the need to keep learning.
Ultimately, the motivation to grow has to come from within, but there’s plenty of support and sparring available to help develop your skills.
What’s it like working at Hellon?
Working at Hellon has been an absolute pleasure. My colleagues are seasoned professionals, which in turn motivates me to develop myself further. The company culture is entirely people-driven, with maximum transparency in communication. Everyone is encouraged to participate as much as possible in decision-making and other company activities.
